This Human Rights Day a new community event in the Winelands is inviting the public to reconnect with themselves and nature.

On Saturday 21 March, Trees South Africa will host the first-ever “Tussen Boom en Bosch”, a unique outdoor community gathering on its scenic property just outside Stellenbosch.

The event promises a full day of nature-inspired experiences designed to bring people together through food, music, movement and mindful appreciation of the natural world.

Visitors can look forward to a relaxed festival atmosphere featuring a guided tree and wine sensory pairing, a fun run through the farm landscape, a family-friendly market, children’s entertainment including jumping castles and treasure hunts, and live music from South African musician Dani Villé.

“For more than 30 years, Trees South Africa has been dedicated to transforming landscapes with mature trees, but our work has always been about more than planting trees,” says Karlinka Redelinghuys, Managing Director of Trees South Africa. “It’s about creating spaces where people can reconnect — with nature, with community, and with themselves. Tussen Boom en Bosch is an invitation to step away from the rush of everyday life and spend meaningful time outdoors among the trees.”

Guests will be able to wander through a curated food and lifestyle market, participate in activities throughout the day, or simply relax beneath the trees and enjoy the tranquil farm setting.
